When the interior decorator suggested magical trees, she instantly pictured cherry blossoms, while her groom had a soft spot for wisteria trees. The decorator gave a nod of approval to both trees, opting to make an enchanting aisle of cherry blossoms and a charming wisteria archway.

Mini Cinderella carriages adorned the tables as centrepieces. Fairy lights in large mason jars made the perfect table lighting. In addition to the trees, the decorators sprinkled gorgeous rose petal runners on the aisle so that the bride could walk in a sea of roses. The wedding arch where the happy bride met her beloved groom featured an illuminated lace curtain with a pearl string. The venue was the true depiction of magic land, where a princess pledged her undying love to her handsome prince. In the centre of it, all was a simple makeshift garden doubling as the dance floor.

There is no denying the charm of a beautifully decorated wedding cake with a delicious flavour to boot. The cake should be in sync with the wedding theme and colour. For this spring fairytale wedding, the square-tiered cake was embellished with exotic sugar flowers and draped in candy hues. A custom “Cinderella and the prince” topper completed the look. The festival is all about the celebration of the end of a month-long fast. Eid al-Fitr usually falls eleven days earlier than the previous years in the solar calendar and observes a three-day national holiday in many Muslim countries. The Islamic Calendar 

The Islamic calendar is a lunar calendar that Muslims follow to celebrate their holidays and festivals. There are twelve months in the lunar calendar and a new month begins with the appearance of a crescent moon. Dates in the lunar calendar are calculated based on lunar phases and a lunar year is usually eleven days shorter than the solar Gregorian calendar. 

Entire Muslim Ummah across the world celebrates two eids; Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adha, according to the Islami calendar. Eid Al-Fitr rounds off the month of Ramadan while Eid al-Adha takes place at the end of the annual pilgrimage performed by Muslims (Hajj). 

Ramadan

It is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. It is the holy month of fasting (also known as Sawm) where Muslims are required to fast from dawn through dusk. 

Children may try to half fast where they fast as long as they please for the sole purpose of trying it out or to avoid feeling left out. They are not however expected to fast until they reach puberty.
During fasting, Muslims abstain from eating, drinking, smoking, and avoiding anything else that is forbidden by Islam. 

The month of Ramadan observes a different lifestyle than other months and requires Muslims to engage in spiritual and poise activities. Experiencing thirst and hunger makes people empathetic towards the poor and gives them a sense of gratitude for what they have. Since the month of Ramadan requires people to refrain from smoking, eating, drinking, and doing other bad deeds, it teaches them self-control and encourages them to do more virtuous deeds. 

Since Islamic months are based on the lunar calendar, Ramadan and other months fall in different seasons each year. Over the course of years, Muslims get an opportunity to fast during long summer days of fifteen to seventeen hours as well as short winter days of ten to twelve hours.

Why is Eid Al-Fitr Celebrated? 

The accomplishment of all the sacred duties performed by Muslims during Ramadan is celebrated with Eid al-Fitr. Muslims gather with their friends and family to celebrate a full month of fasting and to show gratitude towards the followings of Allah in the month of Ramadan. 

How is Eid Al-Fitr Celebrated? 

Kids and adults celebrate Eid with great excitement. In the month of Ramadan or the last weeks leading up to Eid, people thoroughly clean and/or renovate their homes. Eid Prayers 

Salat al-Eid or Eid Prayer is a holy prayer in the Islamic tradition performed on Eid day. It is performed in the morning; the time for prayer is announced in local mosques after the sight of the crescent moon. 

Muslims usually dress up in new clothes to gather in the local mosque and take part in Eid prayer. Performing the Eid prayer is a very special feeling, especially on both Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha.
